Hi!
I am a hardware engineer with a strong foundation in mechatronics engineering and a passion for solving complex problems. I am interested in a range of topics, including robotics software, sensor integration, machine learning, and electrical engineering.
Previously, I’ve worked at Medra, where I was able to write motion control software for a 7-DOF robotic arm both in real life and simulation. At Zoox, I worked on hardware systems integration, getting my hands deep into the nitty gritty parts of autonomous vehicles. At WHOOP and Verkada, I delved into the consumer electronics space, designing, validating, and shipping electrical hardware for wearables and physical security on a scale of thousands to a millions of units.
I’ve also worked on many projects related to mechatronics systems, perception, ML, and more, from quick weekend hackathons to multi-year space projects. I see my ability to understand all components of a mechatronics system and agility in working with small and nimble teams to large complex organizations as one of my greatest strengths.
I’m always open to chat. Hit me up about anything engineering - or, running a half-marathon, doing a triathlon (one day!), and classical music, just some of my recent interests! You can find me on LinkedIn or at olivia.ye@uwaterloo.ca.
